13 weeks & NT test

I had an appointment with my new OB on Tuesday.  I am extremely pleased with the change and feel much more comfortable moving forward.  It went well and I have a new picture to share.  Only one baby would cooperate but we got a pretty good profile shot.  The other one would only show us her bum.  Both babies look great and their heartbeats were excellent.

On Friday I went to see my perinatologist for the Nuchal Translucency (NT) Screening test.  This is basically a specialized u/s that checks to see if you are at an increased risk of having a baby with a chromosomal abnormality.  It is done between 11 and 14 weeks with a highly sensitive u/s machine.  Our u/s tech was wonderful and their machines were amazing.  Both babies checked out fine.  Because I was closer to the 14th week than the 11th, they were able to take a guess at the genders of the babies.  She was as positive as she could be about Baby A - she said it is most definitely a girl.  Baby B she was pretty sure about - another girl!!  The doctor was viewing the u/s in another room and when she came in to talk to me about the test, she said she was "in the 90's percent sure" they are both girls.  We have another u/s at this office in 3 weeks where they will be able to tell with even more certainty.  We are thrilled, even though we would have been happy with any of the possible combinations.  We do have ideas for names but I probably won't share on here until we are positive about both of them.  Taylor is beyond excited at the possibility of having two sisters!
