36 weeks
I had an appointment this morning. I am 2-3cm dilated and 60% effaced. I could walk around like this for another 2 weeks or it could mean labor might be soon. She could feel Addyson's head so at least she won't be flipping on me! So now we sit and wait..... wonder what day the girls will pick for their birthday??

Appointment with the Specialist
I had my last appointment with the specialist today. Addyson is estimated to weigh 5lbs7oz and be 18 inches long. Kynley is estimated to weigh 4lbs15oz and be 18.5 inches. Kynley is still breech and probably will not turn back at this point. Addyson is still head down and extremely low. Since the beginning, this doctor has told me that he would want me to deliver by 38 weeks, if I make it that far. Today, he said he didn't think that would be a problem. We'll see though. These girls could have other plans! I plan on trying to make it as far as possible. I have another OB appointment Wednesday so I will update again then.

OB Appointment
I had an OB appointment today. My legs and ankles started swelling last night so I was glad I already had this appointment scheduled. My blood pressure is fine and there was no protein in my urine so they aren't too concerned with pre-eclampsia at this point. She said I need to be resting more and off my feet as much as possible. Addyson is already engaged in my pelvis and Kynley is no longer transverse - she's completely breech. My uterus is measuring 41 weeks. Basically, this could happen at any point or it could still be a few weeks. They are going to check me next week to see if I've started to dilate. I see the specialist on Monday so we'll get approximate weights at that appointment. It's getting closer!!

34 weeks
Here we are at 34 weeks:

We found out at an OB appointment on January 12th that Kynley has turned transverse. Little stinker. As long as Addyson stays head down, we should still be able to attempt a vaginal delivery. They'll just try to turn Kynley in the right position once Addyson is out. Sounds simple, right?? These past couple of weeks with her head jammed up against my ribs has been quite painful. They are pretty certain she's bruising me from the inside out. There's just not a lot of room for both of them in there!
I'm being seen at the OB once a week now so I'll update the blog as things happen. They told me last week that once I hit 34 weeks they wouldn't take any drastic measures to stop labor if it started. Still hoping to last a few more weeks, though.
I think my biggest complaint at this point in the pregnancy is the lack of sleep. I'm hardly sleeping at all. At the least, I'm up every hour - either to use the bathroom or to change position because of the rib pain or because my hips are aching. Mentally, I think this is the biggest challenge - mainly because I know I won't be getting much sleep once the girls get here. This is only temporary and my girls are much better off inside than out right now. I'm taking it day by day!

32 Weeks
Here we are at 32 weeks:
I had an appointment with the specialist today. Addyson is estimated to weigh 3lbs15oz and Kynley 3lbs13oz. That's almost 8lbs of baby! Both of them are measuring around 16.3 inches long. They are both still head down which is awesome. They don't anticipate them turning at this point but anything is possible. The contractions are getting more intense and painful but they aren't changing my cervix yet. Every day I can keep them inside is a blessing. Taylor was 8lbs3oz when she was born so my uterus is almost as big as it was with her. I hope it doesn't think it's time yet!
Here is Kynley:
And here is Addyson (she was putting her fingers in her mouth):

30 weeks
I had an appointment Wednesday with my OB. Nothing too exciting to report. My uterus is measuring 34 weeks. Both babies are still head down. They're a little concerned about my iron levels but she seems to think the supplements I'm on will be enough. She did a quick u/s to see the heartbeats. Addyson was looking straight at the probe so we got a frontal view of her face. Her cheeks looked so chubby!! We can't wait to see their cute little faces!

28 weeks - Third Trimester!
Last Tuesday I hit the 28 week mark. This was a pretty big milestone. 90% of babies born at 28 weeks will be just fine in the care of a good NICU. What a huge relief, although I hope to keep them cooking for several more weeks.
I had two appointments last week - one with the specialist and one with the OB. Besides being slightly anemic, everything is going well. The babies were estimated to weigh 2lbs, 4 oz and 2lbs, 5oz. My uterus was measuring 31 weeks and both girls are still head down. We will be doing the hospital tour soon and Taylor will be attending a childbirth prep class for siblings, offered at the hospital. She has a strong desire to be there when the girls are born and my doctors and midwives are very encouraging of this.
It's hard to believe that in 2 months or less, the girls will be here. I'm overwhelmed at the thought but so very excited to meet them.
